Learner Declaration & Legal Acknowledgement
This is the plain-language summary of what you are agreeing to when you enrol. It sets out what our services are, what they are not, and what stays your responsibility.

This document is published in several languages for your convenience. The English version is the legally binding version. Where a translation differs from the English text, the English text prevails.
1. What this document is
This Learner Declaration is a short, direct statement of the things we most want every learner to understand before they start. It exists so that expectations are clear from day one and nobody is surprised later.
It forms part of the Learner Terms of Service and should be read together with the Privacy Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy, AI Usage & Responsible Use Policy, Code of Conduct & Academic Integrity Policy and Copyright & Trademark Notice. Where those documents give more detail, they govern.
By creating an account, enrolling in a class, buying a plan or add-on, using CAPA, or sitting an assessment, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this declaration.
Nothing in this document reduces or limits any mandatory legal right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. We are an education provider
You acknowledge and agree that Capital Academy provides education, and only education.
We do not provide, and nothing on the platform constitutes:
- financial or investment advice
- investment management or portfolio management
- brokerage or dealing services
- legal, tax or accounting advice
- any other regulated professional service
- employment placement or recruitment services
Completing a class or certification does not create a professional-client relationship between you and Capital Academy or any of our experts. Our experts appear in an educational capacity; they are not acting as your adviser.
3. Markets involve risk
Nothing taught, published or generated on this platform is a recommendation to buy or sell any security or financial instrument. Financial markets involve risk, including the loss of your capital.
You acknowledge that case studies, market examples, instruments, strategies and figures used in our content are illustrative, and may be simplified, historical or hypothetical. They are teaching devices, not trade ideas.
Past performance does not guarantee future results. You are solely responsible for any financial decision you make, and you should obtain advice from an appropriately licensed professional in your jurisdiction before acting.
4. What AI can and cannot do for you
You acknowledge that CAPA and our other AI features are learning tools, not authorities. Specifically, you accept that:
- AI-generated answers can be wrong, incomplete, outdated or confidently mistaken
- AI responses are never investment, financial, legal, tax or medical advice
- you should verify anything important against the official course materials and authoritative sources
- AI features are metered under fair-use allowances and may be modified or withdrawn
- AI instructors and avatars are AI; they are not real people and do not represent any individual expert's personal views
- using AI to answer an assessment for you, where that is not expressly permitted, is academic misconduct
You also acknowledge that we store your AI conversations to provide continuity and to operate, secure and improve the service, as set out in the Privacy Policy, and that you should not enter sensitive personal or employer information into CAPA.
5. What a certificate means
You acknowledge that a Capital Academy certificate confirms one thing: that you successfully completed the published educational requirements of that class or certification.
It does not:
- constitute a university degree or academic diploma
- confer a professional licence or authorise regulated practice
- create membership of any professional body
- guarantee employment, promotion, a salary increase or admission anywhere
- guarantee academic credit at another institution
Where a certification is co-issued with a partner institution such as the American University in Dubai, that is stated on the certification page. Co-issuance reflects that institution's involvement in the programme. It does not give you student status, academic credit or admission rights there unless we say so in writing.
You remain responsible for checking whether a credential meets the requirements of your employer, regulator, university or professional body before you rely on it.
6. CPD hours
Where a class or certification carries CPD accreditation, you acknowledge that any learning hours we publish are estimates of the time the activity takes, provided for information only.
You are responsible for determining how much learning you completed, whether it satisfies the CPD requirements of your employer, regulator, licensing authority or professional body, and how many hours or credits you may claim. We do not calculate, approve or guarantee your CPD claim, and we do not file it for you.
7. Outcomes depend on you
You acknowledge that we can give you excellent material, working practitioners and AI support at any hour, but we cannot do the learning for you.
We make no promise about your results, your exam performance, your career progression, your income, or any investment outcome. Learner outcomes vary with prior knowledge, effort, time invested and circumstances entirely outside our control.
Testimonials, reviews and success stories reflect individual experiences and are not a guarantee or a typical result.
8. What stays your responsibility
You confirm that you will:
- provide accurate information and keep your account details current
- use your legal name, so certificates are issued correctly
- keep your login credentials confidential and not share your account
- check prerequisites before enrolling, and complete what you buy within your access period
- do your own work and comply with the Honor Pledge and the Code of Conduct
- follow the rules for each assessment, including where AI is not permitted
- respect our intellectual property and content protection
- make sure your device, browser and connection meet the technical requirements
- verify anything important before acting on it
You acknowledge that failing to complete a class, failing an assessment, or not using what you bought does not entitle you to a refund. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
9. Commercial acknowledgements
You acknowledge and accept that:
- all purchases are final and we do not offer refunds, except in the narrow circumstances set out in the Refund & Cancellation Policy or where the law requires otherwise
- access is granted for the period stated at purchase and is not perpetual
- cancelling a subscription stops future renewals but does not end or refund the current billing period
- plans and recurring add-ons renew automatically until you cancel
- content, features, experts and AI capabilities may be updated, replaced or withdrawn
- temporary interruption of the platform or of AI features does not entitle you to a refund
10. Assessments and verification
You acknowledge that completing the learning materials alone does not entitle you to a certificate, and that passing requirements and attempt limits are published for each programme.
You accept that identity verification may be required before you sit a final exam or receive a credential, that exams may be timed, proctored, monitored or recorded where permitted by law, and that a technical problem does not automatically entitle you to an additional attempt.
You accept that credentials obtained through fraud, impersonation, plagiarism or other misconduct may be revoked, and that our verification records may continue to show a revocation.
11. Your declaration
By using Capital Academy's services, you declare that:
- you have read and understood this declaration and the documents it refers to
- you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, or the consent of a parent or guardian where required
- the information you have given us is accurate and complete
- you understand that our services are educational and are not professional or financial advice
- you understand the limitations of AI-generated content
- you understand what a Capital Academy certificate does and does not represent
- you accept that learning outcomes depend on your own effort and circumstances
- you accept the commercial terms, including that purchases are final
- you accept full responsibility for decisions you make using what you learn here
If any part of this declaration is unclear, or you do not agree with it, please contact us before enrolling rather than after.
