Code of Conduct & Academic Integrity Policy
A certificate is only worth something if everyone earned it the same way. This policy sets out the standards we hold learners to, starting with the Capital Academy Honor Pledge.

1. Why this matters
Capital Academy credentials are checked by employers, universities and regulators. Their value rests entirely on the confidence that every holder actually did the work. Protecting that is the purpose of this policy, and it protects you as much as it protects us.
This policy forms part of the Learner Terms of Service and applies to every learner, in every class, certification and assessment, and in every community space on the platform. Read it together with the AI Usage & Responsible Use Policy, which governs when AI assistance is and is not permitted.
It applies equally whether you bought access yourself, received it through an employer or university, or are studying on a scholarship.
2. The Capital Academy Honor Pledge
Every learner pursuing a Capital Academy certification is required to read, acknowledge and abide by the Honor Pledge in order to receive and maintain certification status. It is presented in the platform, and by accepting it you commit to the following.
- I will complete all exercises, quizzes and final assessments independently, without any unauthorised assistance.
- I will not share my login credentials or grant access to Capital Academy content to any other person.
- I will not plagiarise or misuse any content in projects, quizzes, assignments or assessments.
- I will not copy, post or share any learning resources, exam content or proprietary materials without prior written consent from Capital Academy.
- I will conduct myself with professionalism, integrity and respect for the values and reputation of Capital Academy and its professional certifications.
- I will avoid any conflicts of interest or external influences that may compromise my ethical or professional judgement.
- I will report to Capital Academy any violations of this pledge or suspected unethical behaviour by others within the learning environment.
Breaching the Honor Pledge may lead to disciplinary action, including revocation of your certifications and loss of access to the platform.
3. What we expect of you
Beyond the pledge, we expect every learner to behave the way a professional would in a workplace or a lecture hall:
- do your own work, and let your results reflect what you actually know
- be honest in everything you submit, including your identity and your progress
- treat instructors, experts, staff and other learners with respect
- respect our intellectual property and the effort behind it
- follow the instructions issued for each assessment
- raise concerns through the proper channels instead of taking matters into your own hands
Most learners never need to think about this policy. It exists for the small number of cases where someone does.
4. Academic misconduct
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Plagiarism
- Presenting someone else's work, words, analysis or code as your own, whether copied from another learner, a website, a publication or an AI system, without proper attribution where attribution is permitted.
- Impersonation
- Having another person complete any part of a class, assessment or exam for you, or completing one for someone else. This includes sitting an identity-verified exam on another learner's behalf.
- Collusion
- Working with others on an assessment that is meant to be completed individually, or sharing answers before, during or after an assessment.
- Contract cheating
- Paying for, soliciting or providing completed assignments, exam answers or exam-sitting services.
- Unauthorised materials
- Using notes, devices, applications, browser tabs or any other aid during an assessment where these are not expressly permitted.
- Unauthorised AI use
- Using CAPA or any other AI system to produce answers you submit as your own, where AI assistance is not expressly permitted for that activity.
- Falsification
- Altering or fabricating learning records, progress, results, certificates, credentials or identity documents.
- Automation
- Using scripts, bots or automated tools to complete lessons, quizzes, exercises or exams.
- Exam content disclosure
- Recording, reproducing, publishing, selling or sharing examination questions or answers, including in study groups, messaging apps or online forums.
- Credential misuse
- Misrepresenting a credential you hold, claiming one you have not earned, or altering a certificate.
5. AI and assessments
CAPA is built to help you learn, and using it to understand a concept, work through a practice problem, check your reasoning or revise is exactly what it is for. That is never misconduct.
Using CAPA or any other AI system to generate answers you submit as your own, in a final exam or any assessment where AI assistance is not expressly permitted, is academic misconduct.
Where an activity permits AI assistance, we say so explicitly. Where it is silent, assume it is not permitted, and ask us if you are unsure. Attempting to manipulate an AI system to gain an assessment advantage is treated as seriously as any other form of cheating.
The AI Usage & Responsible Use Policy sets out the full rules.
6. Examination conduct
You must comply with all instructions issued for an assessment. Final exams may be timed, identity-verified, remotely supervised or proctored, and may be monitored or recorded where necessary and permitted by law.
During a supervised or timed assessment you must not:
- allow another person to be present, assist you or observe your screen
- use a second device, additional screen or unauthorised application
- leave the assessment environment except as permitted
- capture, photograph, screenshot or record any part of the assessment
- communicate with anyone about the content of the assessment while it is live
Failure to comply may result in disqualification from the assessment without refund. If you experience a genuine technical problem, report it as soon as reasonably practicable. See the Learner Terms of Service.
7. Community conduct
Where the platform offers discussion, messaging, reviews, peer learning or events, communicate professionally and respectfully. You must not harass, bully, discriminate against or threaten anyone, publish unlawful or offensive material, spam or advertise without permission, impersonate another person, or disclose someone else's confidential information.
Disagreement about markets, methods or interpretation is welcome and is part of learning. Personal attacks, harassment and discrimination are not.
We may moderate community content and remove anything that breaches these standards.
8. Access and content integrity
Your account is personal to you. Sharing credentials, selling or transferring account access, or letting another person use your seat is a breach of this policy and of the Learner Terms of Service.
You must not record, copy, redistribute or republish class materials, circumvent technical content-protection measures or media access tokens, or upload our content to third-party sites. Our content protection exists because our experts' work has value. See the Copyright & Trademark Notice.
9. How investigations work
Where we have reasonable grounds to suspect misconduct, we investigate. Our aim is to reach the right answer fairly, not quickly.
9.1 What we may review
- assessment submissions and answer patterns
- AI interaction logs
- examination monitoring records, where recording was permitted
- plagiarism and similarity reports
- identity verification records
- learning progress and platform activity data
- technical and security logs
- reports from other learners, staff or partner institutions
9.2 The process
We may suspend access to the affected class, assessment or account while we investigate. Where appropriate, we will tell you what is alleged and give you a fair opportunity to respond before a final decision is made. Decisions are taken by authorised personnel, not by an automated system.
We will communicate the outcome to you in writing, together with any available appeal route.
10. Consequences
Where misconduct is established, the response is proportionate to what happened, whether it was deliberate, and whether it has happened before. Depending on the case we may:
- issue a formal warning
- invalidate the affected assessment result and require a resit
- refuse to issue a certificate, or revoke one already issued
- restrict access to specific features, including AI services
- suspend the account pending further steps
- terminate the account and decline future enrolment
- notify a partner institution, employer or accreditation body where we are required or entitled to
No refund is payable where access is withdrawn, a result invalidated or a credential revoked for academic misconduct.
Where a credential is revoked, our verification records are updated to show it is no longer valid, and we are not required to remove the record of revocation.
11. Appeals
If you believe a decision under this policy was wrong, you may appeal. Write to support@capitalacademy.ai within thirty (30) calendar days of being told the outcome, setting out your name and account details, the decision you are challenging, your reasons and any supporting evidence.
Appeals are reviewed by authorised personnel who were not directly involved in the original decision wherever reasonably practicable. We may uphold the decision, modify it, require additional assessment, or provide another appropriate remedy. The outcome is communicated in writing.
An appeal is not a refund request. The full appeals process is set out in the Learner Terms of Service.
12. Reporting a concern
If you become aware of cheating, shared exam content, account sharing, a forged certificate or any other breach of this policy, tell us at support@capitalacademy.ai. Under the Honor Pledge, reporting suspected misconduct is something you have committed to.
We treat reports confidentially so far as we reasonably can, and we do not tolerate retaliation against someone who reports a concern in good faith. Reports made maliciously or in bad faith are themselves a breach of this policy.
